"Forging a Productive Partnership between the HR and Finance Functions in Consulting Companies"

 Thursday, November 4, 2010
10am-2:30pm ET
New York, NY

CFOs and CHROs of consulting firms and their teams are two of the most critical functional areas in running a consulting firm. Characteristically, they are driven, detail-oriented and tireless with an intense loyalty to their functional roles. Both take part in key decision-making sessions, enjoy the trust of their CEOs, presidents and senior partners and are vital to the successful development and implementation of the firm’s business plans and strategy.

Then why do they encounter so many hurdles in effectively collaborating and working together?

Experience reinforced by recent studies show that CFOs and CHROs utilize different communication styles, different approaches to problem solving and different criteria when measuring progress and success of initiatives. Each factor can contribute dramatically to misunderstanding, frustration and lack of progress.

Once both areas understand how to work with each other effortlessly and comfortably, their output will naturally increase. Managers in turn will be freed from coaching and micro-managing to being able to focus on higher-level functions.

Join us for a unique three-part event with presentations and a workshop that brings these two sides of the consulting leadership together.
  • "Keys to successful integration: How to Maximize Success in Partnering the CFO and HR Functions"
  • Team Assessment Tools: "Know Your Partners, Know Your Self" – Using quantitative, graphical analysis tools, team communication styles, ambitions and cultural preferences. Both functional areas will be analyzed and discussed.
  • Facilitated Discussion: "Using Knowledge to Be More Effective" – Building on the previous two sections, the group will come to common understandings of the problem areas and possible resolutions.
Presenters:
Myrna Hellerman, Senior Vice President, Midwest Region Leader, Sibson Consulting
Greta Roberts, CEO, Target Teams

Moderators:
Anne Bodnar, Chief Administrative Officer, Towers Watson
Stephen Kaye, CFO, Hay Group

Registration includes: The Target Teams Leadership Assessment tool (over $300 value).

Leaders and consultants have an instinctive approach to their work that has grown to work extremely well. Target Teams believes the best business results happen when individuals understand their own approach, and work to "activate" (not change) what works for them.

Customized results from this sophisticated questionnaire will help registrants understand their own strengths and define a repeatable process to deliver the most effective revenue generating behavior.

Registrants will receive the tool upon registration confirmation and be asked to submit responses prior to the program.

Understanding the “people” involved in this increasingly important discussion can begin a new discussion of bridge building and best practices between these two important areas.
